I took Ronan to his first pumpkin patch yesterday. I didn’t do it last year, and I regret not having any pictures. I wasn’t going to let that happen this year!
It has been lovely fall weather lately, and I picked out what I wanted Ronan to wear a day in advance. As he was napping, I got myself ready to go and dressed in fall appropriate colors. We loaded up in the car and headed out for Carrigan Farms.
When we got there, we waited a few moments for the rest of the ‘group’ that was expected, and Ronan checked out the pumpkins that were for sale by the side of the road.
“Ball!”
When it was time to load up for the hay ride, Ronan was ready to go.
He had no idea what was coming, and and as soon as the tractor started, he wanted to sit in my lap. My big, brave boy still needs his momma sometimes.
Don’t we look sweet and comfortable? Did I forget to mention that I dressed us for Monday’s weather? Because on this day, it was 83 degrees outside, and we were both SWELTERING. I made THAT picture black and white because my face was red as a beet.
A gorgeous lake we passed by. Fall is FINALLY coming to North Carolina!
Perfect for driving cars on, if not a little big.
This one’s good, momma.
Patiently waiting for the ride back to camp. Notice his little red face. Poor guy.
He held on to the pumpkin the whole way back. Sweetest thing!
When we got back to camp, we had fresh apple cider. Ronan was BESIDE himself with excitement. He asked for “more” 3 times, and drank three whole cups. When it was time to go, he waved goodbye to everyone we had met, and happily got in the car to leave.
I’m really glad we went. I wish I had prepared and dressed more appropriately for the weather… actually, I wish the weather had been a little more ‘fall-like’. I think, next year, we’ll make sure to bring daddy or go with some friends. It was a little lonely being the only mom there without a friend among all the other groups. Oh well! Live and learn!
