I’m writing this from home!
They finally let me go yesterday around 5:30 pm. They were hesitating and making excuses, and trying to come up with reasons for me to stay. I KNOW it’s because they’re worried that they don’t know the reasons I was so sick, and I KNOW it’s because I work for 3 of the most important, highly respected doctors in the city – no one wants to screw up when those guys are watching your every move.
The medicine that they’ve given me to make my contractions stop also lowers my blood pressure. It’s naturally around 90/60 (normal adult blood pressure is 120/80) and the medication lowered it to about 70/40. For a normal person, that’s below function levels. Regardless of how low it was, I felt fine. They didn’t want to let me leave until my blood pressure normalized… so I used my trickery! I called the doctor at my office that had consulted on my case, and asked him if he would recommend they let me go home. Within 20 minutes, I was packing and on my way out to the car.
Brock’s parents came over and cooked dinner for us last night, and the company that Brock works for bought me a huge bouquet of flowers. It was really nice.
Right now I’m on bed rest until my doctor says otherwise. If I keep feeling okay like I do today, I’m hoping they’ll let me go back to work on Monday. I can take it easy at work and still be working. And until then, I have to figure out what to do with my mountains of free time that can be done sitting or laying down!
