Holy crap. Is it real? Is she really here??
Wow, I haven’t sat at a computer in such a long time. I have responded to SO many emails today, and I’m not even a fraction through with them. I’ve done such a poor job of keeping in touch, keeping updated. It’s really pretty depressing.
So!
Brock and I were married at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July the 5th, 2008. We had a beautiful ceremony that went off without a hitch. (Unless you consider the absent ring bearer a hitch. It didn’t bother me a bit!) We had around 60 guests, with a small private reception at Brock’s parents house. The weather cooperated almost completely. There was nothing I would have changed about that incredibly special day. I don’t have any official pictures from the wedding yet, but I do have a few really cute ones that my new sister-in-law Heather took. She is an amazing photographer.
She snapped this one just as we had walked down to the reception, and were introduced as “Mr and Mrs A*******” by the DJ.
I can’t wait to get my wedding pictures to go along with these ones.
The honeymoon also went so very well. We went to the Dominican Republic, and stayed at an all inclusive resort. We spent a few hours of every single day we were there at the beach. We couldn’t get enough of the surf and the waves, and the fun. NEITHER of us got sunburnt, which is more than I can say for EVERY other guest at the resort! We both applied sun screen at least three or four times each day, and still got some pretty nice tans.
Ok…. So, now here’s the new news. New new news!
Shhhhhhhhhhhh…. it’s still SORT OF a secret. Everyone that reads my blog already knows.
I’M PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hooooray! I have only told a small handful of close family and friends. I figure my blog is mostly those people, and then strangers, so why not share? It feels good to share!
I have been SO sick! I’ve lost nearly 10 pounds because of nausea and inability to eat. I keep trying to get as many calories in as I can just by snacking. I eat something between every single patient at work. We’ve already had an ultrasound (of course!) and everything seems to be progressing completely normally. I’m about 8 weeks tomorrow, and we have a heart beat! (156 beats per minute!) I know some say it’s not smart to tell people until you’re past the first trimester, and past the chance of a miscarriage… but I think about it differently. Share the good news, share the bad news… and a miscarriage or loss can happen at any time. I think it’s all worth getting out there.
We are going to have a baby!!!!!!
(I have a paper journal to write about my pregnancy in, and I find myself unwilling to use it… takes so much time. I will likely follow how things are going here. It will be motivation to write every day!)
Sorry I have updated so little, I hope that is now about to change. I missed you guys SO MUCH!
