After a day of cancellations, delays, and absolutely no sleep, I finally made it home.
First, it would be fair to say that I was lucky enough to meet some really exceptional people while I was flying. I’m fairly outgoing, and don’t hesitate to start up conversations with my neighbors while flying. I met a wonderful lady that had survived breast cancer, and was beginning to change her life because of what she’d been through. On my next flight, I met an Investment Banker that was so very much like my best friend Crystal that I couldn’t help my sat. Our flight was 4 hours long, and we chatted the whole way. To be quite honest, I didn’t notice my take-offs or landings — the ones that usually make me sick and cry. So all in all, it was ok.
I drove in around midnight. It felt great to finally arrive, even though something was missing. Went to sleep too late, got up too early. Breakfast with family, and a visit with my niece, Kiera. She was is so sweet, and so observant. I saw her this morning wearing my glasses, and this evening again with out them. She said, “Hi Auntie Mandy… where’s you glasses?” I hadn’t even noticed I didn’t have them on.
Anyways. Gift wrapping is mostly done. I can’t wait to give out my presents. It’s nice to be here (though it’s damn cold!) Arg. Don’t know what else to write. Got distracted and lost my flow.
