I finished it!
Today, my first day off, and I spent it in the world of Harry Potter. So now it is done.
There will be no spoilers here, be sure of that.
I’m saddened that it is over. And yet proud of J. K. Rowling. I have enjoyed these books far beyond anything I had ever imagined. It started out as a fancy, a whim, a desire to read the books that had been banned in some schools, marked as evil by some people. I wanted to see what the fuss was about.
The fuss was about an amazing story. And epic journey of growth, friendship, love, and life. It is so much more than the movies that have done some small justice. It is so much more than a few pieces of print and paper bound together. These books have the ability to create a passion, a joy in reading; a friendship with characters you never meet, and yet love all the same; a sadness to turn the last page and see there are no more pages to be turned. J. K. Rowling wrote of witches and wizards, but it is she who held the magic.
I will forever count these books among the greatest I have ever read. I will always be thankful that Miss Rowling put pen to paper. I will always be glad I was allowed to share in their world.
