First ballet class yesterday.
OK, so not my first. But the first one in Arkansas. Let me tell you…French with an Arkansas accent sounds really, really funny.
I had a great class. My teacher seems really strict, but funny. She likes to tell little jokes, and she gets along really well with the students. Her dancers are all AMAZING.
We talked for a little while about my technique and my past dance experience. Because she only teaches ballet, and I can take up to 4 classes a week, she said I should see HUGE improvements in my technique. If I really try hard, she said I could also really improve my flexibility and turnout. I’m excited. Taking four classes a week with her should be really good for me.
Now all I have to do is find out about BakStage Dance, and decide if I want to take another Ballet class and really push myself, or go ahead and take a Hip Hop class and allow myself to relax. Their Hip Hop is only a 6 week session, so that might be really fun.
As for Work! Wow, the hospital is crazy. I think I’m gonna like it there. There are quite a few Techs, and most of them seem really nice. Scarily enough, the ONE tech that I’m going to have as my preceptor seems to be really…blunt. It will probably be good for me. She told me right off the bat not to take her too seriously, and if she’s doing something that bothers me, to let her know.
Let me just say this: Arkansans are BIG on body contact. I’m really…not.
