Oh, how beautiful it was to have no Southeast classes yesterday.
Now, I’m writing this story because I write things down here, and not because it is intended to make anyone FEEL BAD. It was an accident, and I don’t hold any blame.
Here’s how it went down:
I was about to leave for work Sunday night for a nice little four hour shift. I was sort of excited to only have to work for a little while, and then come home. It was about 5 minutes to 5, and it takes me about half a minute to get to work, so I had plenty of time. Justin was being his usual, so when he came over to give me a hug-goodbye, he started playing, “Don’t go.” He was hugging me hard, and I started trying to back up to get away, when one of us, or both of us stumbled over some shoes and went down.
If that were where it ended, well, frankly it’d be a boring story.
However, Justin has a weight set, and within this weight set there is a weight holder. The weight holder is triangle shaped with round poles sticking out the long sides of the triangle for holding weight plates. Most of the round poles have rubber protective caps on the end. This one didn’t.
So as we fell backwards, Justin tried to hold me up so I wouldn’t hit the ground so hard. When my back hit the pole, I started yelling, “OW!” really loud, and he thought he was hurting me, so he just let go. My back ground into the pole, and I rolled off to the side and lay on my stomach, crying something fierce. Justin kept asking me what happened, but I was crying too hard to talk. I pulled my hands away from the pain, and then noticed there was blood on them. Now, not only was I crying, but I started panicking too. “I’m bleeding. Why am I bleeding?! Why is there blood?!”
We finally figured out that the end of the pole was savagely sharp, and had basically taken a small chunk of my lower back out. It also bruised and scraped more skin on my way off the pole. It hurts a lot, even still, and holy crap laying in bed is a pain in the, well…back.
That is all. It was an accident, I’m not trying to make you feel bad, and I love you!
